Shane Horgan Cup 2019 (u16) – South East 45 – Metro 7
Congratulations to Alan Kehoe (Wing) and Sean Kehoe (Back Row) who both lined out for the South East team in the opening round of the 2019 Shane Horgan Cup (u16) in Cill Dara RFC on Friday, 30th August last. South East faced Metro in a double header which also featured North Midlands versus Midlands.
The South East game was played with a strong crosswind and Metro opened the scoring with a converted try which was negated after 20 minutes by a converted try by South East who went on to register another converted try to leave the half time score 14 – 7.
After the break the South East imposed their superiority with Alan getting over for a try from open play. Alan was again involved in the next South East try with some good interplay with the South East centre. 3 further tries were scored by the South East who ran out convincing winners in the end on a scoreline of 45 – 7.
Well done to both players.
The second round of the Shane Horgan Cup will be played on Wednesday 30th October in the Midlands, venue to be confirmed. South East will face North East.
